General Information
P. J. Jacobs tries to offer a variety of extra-curricular opportunities to all our students. When students participate in these activities it incorporates contact time with their peers as well as exposure to interests that may help them determine their life goals.
Students are welcome to join any of these organizations at any time during the school year. Some of the opportunities are seasonal in nature. Students should listen to the morning or afternoon announcements for information regarding specific events/meetings. Students are also encouraged to take the lead in establishing additional clubs of interest. Forms for starting a club can be found in the main office or with a students Advisory teacher.
Art Club
The P. J. Jacobs Art Club plans to provide an environment where students can have fun, express their artistic side, and create anything from individual work to projects in the community. The club will decide together where their needs are for self-expression. We had our first meeting on November 7th. Art Club will meet every Monday, in room 008 from 3:00-4:30pm. Please listen to announcements for other information throughout the year.

Participants who do well at the Level I competition in January, move on to compete at Level II in February. Practices start in November. The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is the nation's premier organization established to recognize outstanding middle level students. More than just an honor roll, NJHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership, character, and citizenship. Students who earn a minimum of a 3.6 cumulative GPA in 8th grade are eligible to apply during the fall of their freshman year. The application process is competitive and not all applicants are selected. Selected students participate in an induction ceremony, meet monthly as a group to plan service activities, participate in service activities, and develop the skills necessary to be eligible for membership in National Honor Society (NHS) at SPASH.
